Art, music and dance are what I love, especially when they are a shared experience. Many years were spent in art and dance lessons as a kid, and the magic of music was discovered in my teens. Often (if not always) striving to be immersed in one (if not all) of these outlets, I find it difficult to imagine life without them. Straight out of high school, while studying Art History in Europe; I was inspired to take my practice seriously and went on to complete a Visual Arts diploma at Camosun College. Next, one year of independent studies at Emily Carr was spent, but I soon wanted a change and moved to Montreal. A couple years later, after returning to the West Coast, I completed a Fashion diploma at Blanche MacDonald Institute and launched the fashion brand Fuhr co. Playing with bold colours and shapes was a big focus during those 7 years. I have always been interested by how colours interact with each other and emit energy. As much as fashion has been a personal expression, the greatest joy experienced during those years was community building. In 2024 I closed my business and used the remaining accumulated fabric to start the SEW SEW GOOD fashion waste project. Community is why we started and I'm SEW HAPPY with what we have co created. To me, working with what we already have and creating beauty is what life is all about.
Threaded cognition is an integrated theory of concurrent multitasking- that is, doing two or more things at once. The theory posits that streams of thought can be represented as threads of processing coordinated by a procedural resource, without the need for task specific executive processes. Threaded cognition is a theory that explains how people perform multiple tasks simultaneously. Developed by David Salvucci and N.A Taatgen in 2008.
